My motivation for creating The Art of UnBusy and the upcoming program, ParadiseNow Mom: 21 Days to UnBusy is simple: I want to have big problems, and I want you to have them, too.

I don’t want my biggest problems to be split ends, my bills, laundry, anything me-focused. I want my problems to be huge: the state of midwifery services in Senegal, children’s rights in Nepal, and equipping teens in the United States with tools to become entrepreneurs so that they can save their country.

We all have gifts that can help heal big problems. Through learning how to manage our little lives and get control of the mini-universe between our ears, we can free up time and energy that is being spent in ways that don’t serve anyone (worry, playing catch-up, etc.).

If you can create systems in your home and in your life that free up 30 minutes a night, you can turn those 30 minutes into a venture, program, or book that can change the life of someone in your community or the whole world. For once, you’ll be able to take your eyes off of the mess in front of you (because it will be gone) and look up and see your mission in life. For mothers that means seeing ourselves, our children, our husbands clearly for the first time. We can learn how to serve without become a martyr or a slave. We learn how to take care of ourselves so that we can nurture others JOYFULLY.

I hope that big problems on their way for you and that the little ones that consume you fade into the light.

Please forgive the huge delay in bloggings. I’ve been focusing on my other work: social networking for an amazing lineup of businesses and media personalities/authors, but am ready to continue my UnBusy project with a whole new level of understanding.

I’ve had *busy* days. They are days when I spend my time out of the moment, always either one step ahead anticipating, dreading, or one step behind, regretting and over analyzing. That’s just no way to live.

Have you ever noticed how the people who are the most enjoyable to be around are the ones who are able to be present with you? They are calm, can look you in the eye, and engage with you in the now. Contrast this with a person who is either constantly living in the worst parts of the past or a future that doesn’t exist. Now imagine both of these people as mothers. What are we teaching our children about life when we treat these moments we’ve been gifted with as if they are painful obligations?

Most of us live charmed lives. If we cannot be content, no, ecstatic, then who can be?

Those who open their eyes to what life is trying to show them.

I’m condensing the information I’ve learned into a free 3 week program. I believe that if we as moms can alter our attitudes and implement systems that make our lives run smoother, we will raise children who feel comfortable with peace a their companion.

Stay tuned!

love, Bunmi

My Maya has a birthday party to attend so it’s going to be all bows, ribbons, and balloons (and cake for me) for the rest of the afternoon. Well, not too much cake…swimsuit season is right around the corner…

Take time this weekend to reconnect with your family, your friends, and yourself. We make life much harder than it truly has to be. Enjoy.
